HP is a widely known multinational technology company that has released a variety of products, including laptops, desktops, printers, speakers, etc.

In this post, MiniTool will introduce the definition of this software and provide a full HP Scan and Capture download guide for Windows. But don’t expect the OCR processing to convert all characters in your image file into text.A lot of users are confused about HP Scan and Capture. But if you need an OCR software for sporadic work, this app is ideal for you. I gave 3 stars because of the limited help topics and OCR features. There are a few languages options in the drop-down menu. TIP: Simply select PDF-Searchable, RTF or TXT when saving a file and the OCR dialogue appears. Unfortunately, it took me a few minutes to find out how to use the OCR feature as the help search doesn’t have any OCR topic. If saving in plain PDF format, there is the option of saving all scans into a single file. Images files are automatically named sequentially, i.e. Users are able to scan multiple pages in a row and then save all images (JPG or TIFF) at once, which is handy. And it only works for HP scanners (obviously). If you expect a professional OCR app, this one is not for you.

I downloaded the app for its OCR capabilities only, not the scan features as MacOS has its own. You’ll find it in launchpad > Other and then you might need to click on ‘shared’ to see your scanner if connected to wifi. However because it should work with both I’ve put it at 2 star.Īnyway for anyone who this doesn’t work and just needs a scan and isn’t fussed about OCR then use the inbuilt Apple 'Image Capture' which does work. So 1 star for the C7200 and 5 for the 7610. Going back to Easyscan, with it working it also does OCR which is nice. Shame because it works with the other scanner I have, the HP 7610 (which is a pretty awful A3 printer - don’t recommend it, it was very cheap but worth paying a few quid more for a Cannon, as it can’t do double sided without leaving massive margins or rescaling so its not to scale, so no good for printing double sided documents that have a header/footer). Which of course I did, and of course got the same message. If these conditions are correct, restart the device and try scanning again". Ensure your device is powered on, check the connection, and ensure your network is functioning properly. However with the C7200 I got the dreaded message: "HP Photosmart C7200 series is currently unavailable. Doesn’t work with photosmart C7200 but does with Officejet 7610
