The Etang de Thau, the inland lake, is one of the biggest producers of shellfish in france, specialising in oysters ( hu îtres), mussels ( moules) and whelks ( bulots). Our hotel is a grand old building on one of the main quaysides.Īfter fitting bikes at the hotel, we will ride a warm-up circuit of the ‘island’ taking in the oyster beds and fishing boats on the inner (lake) side.
